Rooted in DiSTI’s mission to provide developers’ best user experience, these new enhancements came from proven custom-built features requested by customers.

GlobalLogic

Some of the most noteworthy changes within GL Studio 7.2 are:

  • Figma Importer – Users can now import content from the popular UI/UX tool Figma into GL Studio. This update allows users to import any dynamic layout behavior from Figma into GL Studio. Providing your app the same look and behavior as it had in Figma right from the start.
  • CMake Deployments – Now GL Studio uses the popular build tool CMake by default in its projects, allowing customers to integrate GL Studio into their existing CMake-based applications easily.
  • Autosizing text – GL Studio now offers two new automatic resizing modes so that that text boxes will adjust with any text changes. Users can set the text to expand horizontally or fixed-width and expand vertically, adding new lines as needed.
  • UI Pack improvements – GL Studio 7.2 offers various improvements to GL Studio’s popular UI Pack after use in an application. Improvements range from automatic button resizing, widget appearance customization, and improved touch-screen interaction.
  • Improved animation support – Enhanced animation development capabilities. With just a single line of code, developers can deliver a wide range of animations.

“We’re excited to introduce these enhancements and additional features built to fuel continued User Interface possibilities for developers,” stated DiSTI President Joe Swinski. “Our customers rely on GL Studio for efficient, cost-saving developmental tools that deliver unparalleled results. We are committed to going above-and-beyond to provide tools that will future-enhance their programs.”

It has never been more critical for teams to work together efficiently than it is now. DiSTI’s GL studio has always been essential for UI developers seeking to push their creative output boundaries. Still, their power will be even more evident with this release of GL Studio 7.2.

Speel Praha Adopts GL Studio for L-39NG Trainer Jet Head-Up Display
Aviation
Defense

Speel Praha partners with The DiSTI Corporation to use GL Studio Safety-Critical software to develop the Head-Up Display in Aero Vodochody Aerospace‘s next-generation advanced trainer jet.

L-39NG Jet

The advanced trainer jet market will soon transform considerably with the introduction of Aero Vodochody Aerospace’s L-39NG. Today, the DiSTI Corporation announced that Speel Praha selected its GL Studio SC (Safety Critical) HMI software tool to develop the L-39NG’s Head-Up Display. Based in the Czech Republic, Speel Praha’s expertise in aviation displays extends over thirty years.

“When we were approached by our longtime partner, Aero Vodochody Aerospace, to build a Head-Up Display system for their L-39NG latest generation and advanced jet trainer, we didn’t hesitate to turn to DiSTI and their Safety-Critical Graphics software generation toolchain,” stated Josef Slechta, Speel Praha avionics systems designer and HUD-39 project lead engineer.

Mr. Sletcha continued, “For the development of the software for our HUD-39 system we used DiSTI’s GL Studio Safety-Critical Embedded C++ Code Generator (SCEC++) suite. Thanks to this perfectly integrated toolchain, we were able to generate code and test within our simulator environment without having to use the target hardware platform. Only after all is thoroughly tested and verified that the code is deployed “as is” to our MP-39 Mission Processor on the L-39 aircraft. For our purposes, the DiSTI toolchain turned out to be what we would call ‘rapid software development at its best’.

DiSTI engineers are true aficionados of 3D Computer Graphics engineering. Not only are the tools they provide state-of-the-art, powerful, and user-friendly, but their great support with clever ideas also helped us get our HUD-39 graphics software up and running swiftly while speeding time to deployment.”

The L-39NG (next generation) is the latest multi-role, advanced jet trainer aircraft designed by Aero Vodochody Aerospace. AERO developed the plane to provide enhanced military flight training capabilities, offer superior maneuverability and extended range. Developed with GL Studio SC, the Head-Up Display (HUD) in the L-39NG offers suitability for both western and eastern types of fighters.

L-39NG HUD

“Most prevalent in aerospace, the enhanced visibility that HUDs provide can be seen across many markets today,” said Christopher Giordano, VP of UX/UI Technology at DiSTI. “We are honored to have been working with Speel for many years from prototyping their Head-Up Display HMI to implementing the embedded safety-critical design on their target system.”

The L-39NG Head-Up Display (HUD) safety benefits include enhanced situational awareness for flight in limited (or night) visibility in the vicinity of visible terrain, water, ground-based obstacles, or other aircraft. By providing pilots with the ability to maintain an external lookout without losing access to critical aircraft instrumentation, the L-39NG’s Head-Up Display improves visualization. The addition of GL Studio HUDs offers numerous safety benefits for aircraft pilots.

Hyundai Mobis adopts DiSTI’s User Interface software, GL Studio to develop Head-Up Displays for Hyundai KIA motor vehicles.

AR Hud

The DiSTI Corporation, a leading provider of graphical user interface development software and solutions for the automotive market, announces the use of its GL Studio® software in the production of the Head-Up Displays (HUDs) for several upcoming models of Hyundai KIA Motor cars.

“There are increasing demands to process and display 3D graphic data on a vehicle HUD,” stated Mr. Hyun-Jin Park, Head-Up Display Software Leader at Hyundai Mobis. “GL Studio supports the implementation of 2D and 3D specifications well, and helps maintain stable system performance after integration”

Built by Hyundai Mobis utilizing GL Studio HMI software tools, the 12-inch HUD connects with the GPS data providing information like driving routes, driving assistance, and traffic signs. Upon activation of the vehicle’s advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), the HUD also offers traffic data of cars driving around the vehicle.

“All of us at DiSTI are honored to have our GL Studio HMI tools selected once again by Hyundai Mobis for production on their latest Head-Up Displays,” Said Christopher Giordano, Vice President of UX/UI technology at The DiSTI Corporation. “Our mutual success continues to lead the automotive market’s embedded systems technology from Clusters to HUDs and we are very proud to travel this journey with the team at Hyundai Mobis.

DiSTI worked with Hyundai Mobis to help deliver this cutting-edge system used to allow a driver to view driving data easily so that they can operate the vehicle more safely and conveniently. The capabilities found in these HUDs help the driver significantly avoid distractions that can disperse the driver’s view or hinder their cognitive ability, such as controlling GPS and using a smartphone.

Another critical factor for Hyundai Mobis’s adoption of GL Studio is the tool’s built-in support for ISO 26262-8:2018 Safety-Critical UI development. Offering the highest standard possible for functional safety development, GL Studio Safety-Critical Runtime Library has been certified up to ASIL D.For more details, please contact Sales@Disti.com.
